All the cheap houses were snapped up years ago. If you buy cheap, be prepared to do LOADS of work on it.

I am in UK but French and lived a few years in Languedoc Roussillon in the Camargue region….Mail me for tips

Dane Aqua a bit after is very wrong…Languedoc is south east coast of France and composed by four departements(counties) that are Lozere,Gard, Herault, Aude and Pyrenees Atlantiques when Normandie is north west coast composed of Calvados, Manche,Orne, Seine Maritime and Eure !!!!!

The languedoc is vast. You should be more precise. It attracts more and more people and house prices rise at about 10 to 15% a year, Still cheapper than UK but….If you really want to invest, then I advise you to try and contact english speaking people that already live there as they will be more aware to the possible bargains around.

Try Ebay, they seem to have most things on sale.

So your actually looking around Canteleu alright:

Languedoc, 76380 Canteleu, France: near the town of Déville lès Rouen Haute-Normandie France:

outside of school named: Hébert-Gressent Maryelle
at all Scapin 4 76380 Canteleu theres rural area north of there a bunch more and one motel near the road the Relais de Montigny (Le) and a grocery store: Thomas Régis
    r Lieut Aubert 393
    76380 Montigny .

    or:

To the near east of near Languedoc be: Croisset, Haute-Normandie =appears a well built city you’ll be overlooking.

Yes rural and should be less expensive at Montigny which sits above but right on top of Languedoc few yards more north.
Might be you can buy a cottage alongside this area at Montigny

    Here are some realtors:

Century 21: Bruno Ferrand: 219, rte Dieppe
    76250 Déville lès Rouen, France
    02 32 82 10 10

Panorama Immobilier: 3, r Prés Sénard
    76380 Canteleu, France
    02 35 36 80 40

Cheap houses in the Languedoc tend to be ruins and will cost a small fortune to renovate. Try the following web site which has some private sellers:

I was working in France last year for 3 months and all the real estate companies put pictures in the windows with prices. I did not see a cheap house any where.

    Good luck.

Well, Languedoc is quite sought after, so whatever is cheap needs a LOT of TLC.
If you aim a bit more North in Limousin region or even Ardeche you might find cheaper.

Languedoc as all the south of France is very expensive.
Minimum for a house in Montpellier is near 300 K$

You can emeil directly the agencies, generally they speak English

I have bought a house in France i paid 61,000 euros it has 4 bedrooms,1acre of land if you want to look visit I put in the pool and new kitchen but apart from that a lick of paint.I found the only way to find a cheap property was to take a holiday in the area and look in local estate agents some speak english they are very helpful.I managed to find this house in a 1 week trip,if you find something and agree a price you still have 7 days to change your mind.Happy hunting.Ps to get an idea have a look at properties at

Unless you plan to live there most of the year, buying and remodelling a house in France is very expensive, not to mention the utilities are out of sight. If you think that remodelling is a money pit in the US, you are in for a big shock in France. Sadly, the workmanship I’ve seen there is really shoddy ;many places are falling apart even before ppl move in. Visiting France for a couple of weeks vs. living there are 2 really different experiences. Some of the older homes might be of better quality. Looking for a cheap house there is similar to looking for a cheap house in most countries. You can tell your real estate agent your price range and he/she will show you some properties or some photos.

    Hi

There are cheaper properties in Languedoc. They tend to be away from the major cities and the sea.

There is a guide to property in Languedoc at :
