The village of Biot is nice; lots of potteries! Cannes is always crowded, and most of the beach is restricted to various hotel guests (although you can go there for a fee); the small public beach is pretty crowded.

The Cote Azure has a magazine/newspaper (monthly or at least seasonal) that should be available at Tourist Information at the bigger places; look in there for activities and restaurant recommendations!

St. Paul de Vence is charming. Hire a car and drive inland a bit. You’re going to have a hard time finding peace there at this time of year!

Try the old village of Eze just in the hills near Nice. You can see it here

One of the places to visit on the Riviera is the arriere pays, which comprises of smaller cities and towns/villages further away from the coast. They are so much nicer than the places like Nice, Cannes and even St Tropez.

One cool place to see is the Perfume Museum in Grasse, if you’re not too bothered by all the different smells :)

    Hi from Nice !

I can tell you there are no peaceful places on the Riviera on the coastline in the summer.

If you want to be in places without any tourists the only solution is the mountain behind, the Alps. You’ve got many quiet villages with hikes and trails.
