hi
iam french
and i think , the best place in france is the provence and french riviera specially avignon , montpellier and marseille
i think it’s the south of France, you can go to visit provence like Aix en Provence, but you have other cities more chics in cote d’azur like Ste Maxime, St Raphael, but i prefer the cities like Aix en Provence, Avignon, St Paul de vence….
You mentioned the Riviera, and it is one of the most beautiful places on earth, and also you can go inland from there, and in two hours at the most be in the heart of Provence, which has charming (and famous) little towns. But I assure you, the Riviera is extremely crowded, especially in August. I go there every summerr. One other option on the beach, less touoristy, is Deauville, on the Atlantic Coast. Yes, where the Allies landed. Very beautiful elegant town, less sensuous, and again, a lot to see within two hours of driving. Look up Deauville.
